Maureen A. Marty of Ridgefield, WA passed away Monday August 29, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Andre John Marty and her daughter Aileen F. McCarthy. Maureen is also survived by Andre’s loving family of four children and six grandchildren and the loving Vatnsdal family, Chuck and Linda and their two daughters, Amanda and Sara. Maureen was a devoted and caring mother to her beloved daughter Aileen and was an incredibly loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren. Maureen’s commitment to her faith, which was foremost in her life, lived by the teachings of her church.

Born to William and Margaret Wrin in San Francisco, CA. Maureen attended elementary and high school at Our Lady of Victory in San Francisco, known as the French school Notre Dame des Victoires. It was there in 7th grade that she met Andre (John) who would many years later become her beloved husband. During their retirement years Andre and Maureen traveled to many worldly places including Scotland and Europe.

Maureen graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor’s Degree in education from Holy Names University in Oakland, CA. She worked as an elementary school teacher and a Speech Pathologist, retiring after a 38 year career. Those who knew Maureen professionally knew that she was serious, calm, organized, reliable and fair to all. Maureen was never viewed by her professional colleagues as a complainer or complacent, rather she was seen as a go-getter and a devoted child advocate. She was never one to claim the limelight and she garnered the respect of her many students, friends and colleagues. She will be greatly missed in this world. We all love you and will miss you dearly. Maureen, go with God now and begin your life of Glory by His side.
